KUHF and KUHA, Houston Public Radio

In 2010, the University of Houston purchased 91.7 FM from Rice University. The format for KUHF was converted from a dual-format news and classical station to now feature NPR, other top national feeds, plus expanded local news and coverage. 91.7FM was converted to KUHA-FM, Classical 91.7, featuring the best of national programming, local arts coverage and live broadcasts with the Houston Symphony, the Houston Grand Opera and local performing artists and groups.

Announced in 2011 and launched in 2014, Houston Public Radio merged with KUHT HoustonPBS to become Houston Public Media.
